MadeForMums reports that Amazon is offering the Tommee Tippee Groegg2 nursery thermometer and nightlight for £17.07, down from a listed £32.99 RRP. The publication previously rated its ease of use and effectiveness highly but flagged value for money; the deal price and availability may change.
Amazon is listing the Tommee Tippee Groegg2 nursery thermometer and nightlight for £17.07, down from a listed recommended retail price of £32.99, according to MadeForMums. The publication described the offer as a 48% discount, addressing the price concern raised in its earlier review of the nursery device.
The Groegg2 combines a digital room thermometer with a colour-changing nightlight. Its silicone dome changes colour based on the measured room temperature: blue at 16°C and below, yellow between 16°C and 20°C, orange between 20°C and 24°C, and red above 24°C. The display is intended to let caregivers get a quick visual indication of the room temperature without having to read the number on the thermometer.
The light has adjustable brightness, which MadeForMums says can help with visibility during a night feed or nappy change. The product does not offer an app, white noise or smart-home connectivity; the publication describes it as a straightforward thermometer and nightlight rather than a connected device.
In its earlier review, MadeForMums reviewer Natasha gave the Groegg2 an overall score of 3.8 out of 5, with 5 out of 5 for effectiveness and ease of use and 2 out of 5 for value for money. The product later won Gold for Best Safety Tech at the MadeForMums Tech Awards 2025. Those scores and the award are the publication’s assessments, not independent evidence that the device prevents harm.
A Lower Price Addresses the Review’s Main Concern
The offer matters because value for money was the product’s weakest score in MadeForMums’ earlier assessment. At £17.07, the device costs less than the publication’s reported £32.99 listed RRP, making the combined thermometer and nightlight a less expensive option for families considering those two functions in one product.
That does not establish that the Groegg2 is the right choice for every household. Its main appeal, as described by MadeForMums, is a simple visual temperature indicator and adjustable light. Families seeking app controls or other connected features will not find them here. The deal also should not be treated as a substitute for safe-sleep advice or professional guidance; caregivers with questions about a baby’s room or sleep environment should consult their pediatrician or relevant local health guidance.

From Gro Company Review to 2025 Award
When MadeForMums first reviewed the Groegg2, it was sold under The Gro Company brand. The source says Tommee Tippee has since acquired The Gro Company, which accounts for the product now appearing under the Tommee Tippee name. The review’s recommendation was to watch for a discount because the original reviewer considered the retail price high for a thermometer and nightlight.
MadeForMums later tested the product again for its 2025 Tech Awards, where it received Gold for Best Safety Tech. Awards judge Catherine said she valued being able to see the room-temperature indication at a glance and liked the adjustable nightlight for night feeds. The publication also reported testing it during hot weather, when it found the changing colours useful for spotting a warmer room. These are the outlet’s test and judge observations, not a guarantee of performance in every home.
“I like the colour changing night light and how you can easily see if it’s too hot in baby’s room in the night just by the colour – plus it helps us see to do the night feed!”
— Catherine, MadeForMums Tech Awards judge

Price, Stock and Deal Terms Can Change
MadeForMums says the £17.07 price was correct at the time its article was published, but Amazon prices can change and stock may sell out. The source identifies the offer as a Prime deal; it does not provide a guaranteed end date or confirm how long the price will remain available. Buyers should check the live Amazon listing for current price, eligibility and delivery details.
The source also does not give independent testing data on temperature-measurement accuracy, nor does the award establish that using the device alone makes a sleep environment safe. Its colour bands are product information reported by MadeForMums; readers should follow pediatric or public-health advice for infant sleep and room conditions.

Check the Live Amazon Listing
Readers considering the offer can check Amazon’s listing for the current price, Prime eligibility and stock status before ordering. MadeForMums has not reported a fixed expiration date for the deal, so the £17.07 price should be treated as temporary rather than guaranteed.
For families comparing nursery thermometers, the relevant trade-off is clear from the source: the Groegg2 combines temperature display and an adjustable nightlight, while it lacks app-based and smart-home features. Any purchase decision should account for the household’s needs and follow pediatric guidance on infant sleep and room safety.
